Roxbury’s SDF Student and Donor Celebration May 9th

ROXBURY, NJ (May 2, 2022) – Join Roxbury Schools to celebrate the house that Roxbury High School’s Structural Design and Fabrication students built over the past few years in partnership with Morris County Habitat for Humanity and its numerous donors on Monday, May 9th from 5-6 p.m. by the SDF lab at the back of Roxbury High School located at 1 Bryant Drive in Succasunna. Parking is available in the front parking lot. RVSP to this event here.

This is a celebration of all the hard work of the students and all the donors who made the completion of this Morris Habitat housing module possible.

Roxbury High School students enrolled in SDF have been building a home for a future family in Roxbury. Throughout the SDF course, students have learned a variety of technical and construction skills as they followed the process of building a modular home through each step of the way from planning to final completion.

This home, built in two modules, will be transported in the coming weeks to its final home at the corner of Mansel Drive & Edith Road in Landing, NJ.

During SDF classes, students were exposed to many different skill sets from reading architectural drawings to framing, to electrical and plumbing systems, and more. This project and the lessons were taught by a multitude of content matter experts including SDF Teacher Frank Caccavale, Habitat for Humanity staff and volunteers, and Masters in Residence.
