Welcome to Jefferson School!
Jefferson Elementary School has approximately 360 students and 75 faculty members working together towards student achievement and social-emotional development. We support the district's vision, "Preparing the children of today for tomorrow", by providing a state of the art instructional design and community support and development. Jefferson utilizes the theme, "Jefferson School ROCKS". ROCKS stands for Respect Others, self and environment by being Courteous, Kind, and Safe. Students are supported in a nurturing setting to reach their potential academically, socially, and emotionally. Best practices in instruction, along with the progressive technology, come together to enhance our students' education.
Our School maintains its Bronze Certification through NJ Sustainable Schools. Jefferson School also accomplished a plethora of philanthropic contributions to various organizations such as Dimes for Downs, Cards for Troops, Jeans for Troops, St. Baldrick's, Bridge for Books, and Jump Rope for Heart. Locally, Jefferson School contributes towards local social services through food drives and a "Giving Tree" event during the holidays. This school year the students facilitated the Community Care project allowing items that would normally be disregarded at lunch to be donated directly to Roxbury Social Services. During the pandemic, the students also donated snack items and homemade, inspirational cards to our three local hospitals to encourage frontline workers. The school is proud of its students and staff for going above and beyond.
At Jefferson, we strive to challenge students at their optimal learning level, through differentiated instruction. Students engage in small group learning and individualized instruction a majority of the day in ELA and Mathematics. Our curriculum is delivered in a workshop instructional model. We also have a full "In Support of Learning" program for students below benchmark progress; and an enrichment program entitled "Providing Enrichment and Accelerated Knowledge" (PEAK), focused on STEAM, that is provided at all grade levels. Jefferson School is an inclusive setting that fosters individualized support for all to demonstrate personal growth and achievement. There is an inclusion section at every grade level, out-of-class resource and a full preschool disabled program available at the school.

Jefferson School’s Early Act Club Spreads the Love for Goryeb
Jefferson Elementary School’s Early Act Club, an extension of the Rotary Club that teaches students to give back to their community through service projects, raised money during this Valentine's season for Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown. The Early Act Club, comprised of fourth-grade students, raised money during the last month by organizing Valentine’s Day Grams where families could purchase these grams for $5 each to send to their students at Jefferson School on Valentine’s Day.
