Broadway Bound/Behind the Curtain - Summer 2024

Everyone's favorite ogre is back in this hilarious stage spectacle, based on the Oscar-winning smash hit film and outrageous Broadway musical.

Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek JR. is an irrevertly fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

This program is open to all Roxbury and non-Roxbury residents. 

This camp will be held at Roxbury High School (1 Bryant Drive, Succasunna, NJ 07876).

This camp is for Grades 5-10 (as of September 2024)

Broadway Bound Camp

Get ready to delve into the theatre, as we prepare for a performance of Shrek The Musical JR. Students will learn dialogue, music, blocking, and choreography, culminating in a public performance at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 26th. Attendance is a major factor in the success of the show. Please plan on attending all scheduled camp days. This is a half-day 5-week program. This program is open to all Roxbury and non-Roxbury children. 

DATES: Monday, June 24, 2024 thru Monday, July 29, 2024 (24 days)
There is no camp on Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th.

TIMES: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Lunch break is from 11:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. each day

Behind the Curtain

Put your creativity to work and see it put to wonderful use! Students will create scenery, masks, and props for the musical show that will be performed by the BROADWAY BOUND students at the end of the summer program. Attendance is a major factor in the success of the show. Please plan on attending all scheduled camp days. Please pack a mid-afternoon snack for each day. This is a half-day 5-week program. This program is open to all Roxbury and non-Roxbury children.

DATES: Monday, June 24, 2024 thru July 29, 2024 (24 days)
There is no camp on Thursday, July 4th and Friday, July 5th. 

TIMES: 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. - Please pack a mid-afternoon snack for each day

COST: $680 per student* 

Behind the Curtain

COST: $595 per student*

Parents signing up for a full day with both Broadway Bound and Behind the Curtain will receive a discounted tuition of $1,260 for the whole month.

* There is a $25 non-refundable Summer Registration Fee per child. Weekly options are not available.

The Roxbury Community School is self-sufficient and a course/program must pay for itself. If there are not enough registrants, the course/program will be canceled. The Coordinator reserves the right to remove from class those individuals who have not paid tuition.

There are no refunds for courses/camps AFTER the program starts. All cancellations must be received in writing to comschool@roxbury.org at least seven days prior to the start of the class for a refund. After that date, there will be no refunds.
