About the Athletic Training Program

  •
    • Keeping athletes in motionAs the head athletic trainer (licensed by the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs and an approved health care provider by the American Medical Association), Mr. Joseph Koch and Mr. Corey Forlenza (assistant athletic trainer) both provide injury preventive services, emergency care, injury evaluation, and rehabilitation for injured athletes in the high school as well as being resources with regard to proper strengthening/conditioning exercises and nutritional advice for all of our athletic programs. My goal is to provide an atmosphere where the athletes and the parents of those athletes feel confident and comfortable in the knowledge that I will use evidence-based practices in order to prevent, evaluate, treat and return injured athletes back to their sport in a safe and timely manner.

From shin splints to whether to use heat or cold for an injury, this website provides you with a variety of information regarding sports injuries. In addition, you’ll find advice on topics such as concussions, nutrition, injury prevention, strength, and conditioning, as well as career information. This site also contains important documents that we routinely use with regard to our injury policies including concussions, sprains, strains, and clearance procedures.
